:: Coloring your hair ::  Instructions ::

:: Single color (below):: Stripes of Color (coming soon) ::

Once you have bleached your hair, you have a good base for whatever color you've chose. Remember, keep the area you are working with clean, and wear grubby clothes so you wont ruin anything.

Make sure you have all your supplies with you:

- semi-permanent hairdye
- hair clips,
- tint brush (obtainable at any beauty supply store),
- a timer,
- a plastic bowl,
- petroleum jelly
- a few rags
- plastic OR latex gloves.

1) Start by separating your hair into 4 parts, like you did during the bleaching process.  [Have a friend help you during this part].

2) Apply  the petroleum jelly all around your hairline, on the back and top part of your ears and the hairline at the base of the neck. This is to prevent any staining that may occur when the dye falls on the skin.

3) Place all the dye in the plastic bowl, and if you are using 2 kinds of colors OR using toner to lighten the color, blend thoroughly before applying. Apply by  loosening one section of hair. Saturating the end of the tint brush, slowly work the brush from the  roots to the tip of the hair. Also remember to reapply over sports that aren't saturated, so that the color will be balanced throughout the hair.

4)Once you finish one section, divide that section up to check for uncolored spots. When it's all set, finish the other three sections, and start the timer. For a longer-lasting richer color, leave on for 15-30 mins.

5) RINSE with warm water, do not wash it yet. Rinse until the water runs clear. Towel dry gently (your hair will be more brittle), then style as usual, blow-dry or air-dry. Enjoy!
