Directions for Powdered Bleach:
(For Special Effects, Flash Lightning and Jerome Russell Bleach Kits)

Directions for Liquid Bleach:
(For Revlon, Clairol and Other brand name Bleach Kits)

  1. Place the powdered bleach into the bowl or applicator bottle.

  2. Add the liquid developer into the bowl/applicator and mix thoroughly.

  3. Mix/Shake until consistent. If using an applicator bottle: Take your gloved fingertip and cover the top of the bottle while shaking vigorously.

  1. Pour the liquid bleach into the applicator bottle provided.

  2. Take your gloved fingertip and cover the top of the bottle while shaking vigorously.

  3. Check to see that the color is consistent.

  1. *WHEN APPLYING, LEAVE 1/2 Inch UNCOATED From scalp* This is called the 'root' area or the "roots". We'll apply to this part later.

  2. Unclip one section of the hair and apply hair bleach. Use the APPLICATOR BRUSH provided to spread the cream on the hair. Apply from 1/2 away from the scalp to the very tip of the hair.

  3. Clip up when you're finished, and repeat steps #7 & 8 for the other 3 sections of hair. Save ENOUGH bleach for the roots!

  4. Once finished, start timer immediately!

  5. Check your haircolor shade every 10 mins.

  6. Once your hair color turns red/orange, THEN you can apply the bleach to the roots of your hair, once again by applying by EACH of the 4 sections.

 13.  Keep checking the time every 10 minutes, until your hair turns pale yellow. Refer to the chart below.

** REMEMBER: IF at any time your skin begins to feel a burning sensation, or your hair is not reacting normally (e.g., FALLING OUT!) Rinse the bleach out immediately! remember, you can always bleach again later, but you can't grow hair super quick OR heal from chemical burns instantaneously. If anything abnormal happens consult A PROFESSIONAL (or a doctor!?!) to correct the problem! And ALWAYS perform an allergy test 24 hours BEFORE doing anything to your hair!

14. If the hair has reached a light orange stage, wash out the bleach, dry your hair, and  shampoo your hair twice, (so wait a day before you apply the toner, just to prevent your hair from having too much stress).

15. Prepare your toner. Apply this as directed on the bottle. make sure you use gloves and a clean applicator bottle or applicator bowl and brush so that there are not chemical reactions between the two. More Information here:
